Our community thrives when people feel safe and respected. These guidelines apply to all content and interactions on Democratic Alliance (DA) and reflect our values of Freedom, Fairness, Opportunity, and Diversity.
Freedom with responsibility
- Free expression is welcome; no incitement to violence or illegal activity.
- Debate ideas, not people. No targeted harassment or threats.
Fairness & Non-Discrimination
- Zero tolerance for hate speech or slurs targeting protected characteristics.
- No doxxing, glorification of violence, or sexual exploitation.
Opportunity & Constructive Participation
- Stay on topic; be solution-focused and cite sources when making factual claims.
- No spam, scams, or platform manipulation (fake engagement, mass mentions).
Diversity & Inclusion
- Use accessible language; respect cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Disclose affiliations when posting political or promotional content.
Safety
- No sharing of others' private information or non-consensual intimate media.
- Label sensitive media; use built-in tools to mute, block, and report.
Integrity
- No impersonation. Clearly label parody/satire to avoid confusion.
- No misinformation intended to cause harm or suppress civic participation.
Civic conduct
- Coordinate events responsibly with safety information and lawful conduct.
- Respect the rule of law and the rights of others at all times.
Enforcement & appeals
We apply proportionate enforcement: notice > content removal > temporary limits > suspension or ban for severe/repeat violations. You may appeal moderation decisions via the in-app report receipt or by contacting support.
